Management Model

The alliance between the Instituto Nacional de Cultura (National Culture Institute) representing the State, Universidad Nacional de Trujillo (responsible for the research and management of the archaeological monument); the Moche Valley Temples Patrons Society, (formed by members of the local community) and Backus and Johnston Peruvian Breweries Society, a private company which is the project’s main source of financing, foster the research, conservation and development of tourism activities at Huaca de la Luna.

The results of the work done through this alliance show that joint efforts between academic, private and public institutions can develop a successful management model, viable in countries with a struggling economy like Perú.
